Having had a rubbish month with shoulder injuries getting me down Tom and I headed off to Croatia to enjoy a week up in Lake Plitvice National Park and in Bol, Brac (one of the Island’s off the coast near Split).
What a wonderful place it was…despite the torrential rain and tremendous thunderstorms we still had a fantastic time. Lake Plitvice was beautiful with water you just want to dive into but unfortunately swimming isn’t allowed, so we wandered the paths enjoying the amazing scenery whilst getting soaked in the downpours instead.
- Such a shame not to be able to swim in these beautiful lakes
- Ducks enjoying their aquarium

Next we headed down to Split to get the ferry over to Brac where we would be heading to Bol for 3 days. Such a beautiful place, I cannot recommend it enough. Here we were able to spend a few days on the beach enjoying the sun (between downpours) and do a swim along the coast every day. In this surrounding who wouldn’t love swimming!
With just a week to go till our swim window opens I am feeling much more confident that my shoulder is fit and strong and it was great to be able to spend a few days in the Adriatic Sea testing it out.
Lastly I have to add this photo as Tom is very proud of his photography. When asked to take a photo of me coming back from my swim to add to this post he delivered me with this wonderful photo – it makes me laugh every time I see it. A great photo of me swimming you may well agree!
